You'll work on: Footwork drills built up in speed and complexity, planta, tacón and punta combinations, remates and the compás behind them — taught live by Siudy Garrido.

Artistic Director

Siudy Garrido is a distinguished artist known for her work as an artistic director, choreographer, and bailaora. She is a second-generation flamenco artist, deeply inspired by her mother, Siudy Quintero, a flamenco artist with a 60-year career who was awarded a medal of honor by the King and Government of Spain. Garrido founded her own company in 2000, creating six original productions. Her dance journey began at age six under her mother's guidance. She earned a Drama Desk Award nomination in 2011 for her Off-Broadway production Entre Mundos and has toured extensively across the U.S. and Latin America. In 2015, she relocated to Miami and was entrusted by the Los Angeles Philharmonic with the choreography and artistic direction of Amor Brujo, collaborating with maestro Gustavo Dudamel. Her documentary Bailaora, Mis pies son mi voz earned her two Latin Grammy nominations in 2022. She has collaborated with artists such as Alejandro Sanz, Romeo Santos, Marc Anthony, and Maná.

Common questions

These are Siudy Garrido's technique classes, so you should already dance flamenco: basic footwork, arms and marcaje, and you can follow a short sequence without stopping. Footwork Technique works for any dancer from that point up; Body Technique & Choreography suits dancers who are comfortable with full sequences. Most subscribers take both — they run back to back on Thursday evenings.

The livestream is technique work for dancers who already have a base, so if flamenco is new to you, begin with Siudy's On Demand Beginner courses: the same method, taught by Siudy, at your own pace and with no schedule to keep. When you know the basic footwork and arms and can follow a short sequence without stopping, you are ready for Footwork Technique.

A device with a camera and the free Zoom app (a laptop or tablet works best), a clear space of about 6 by 6 feet, a hard floor and your flamenco shoes. Your camera can stay off — you join to dance along with the class, not to be watched.

Zoom is free and you do not need a Zoom account to join our classes. Download it once before your first class: zoom.us/download for a Mac or Windows computer, or search “Zoom Workplace” in the App Store or Google Play on a phone or tablet. Open it once and allow the camera and microphone. On class day, press Join on Zoom in My Zone and Zoom opens straight into the class — no meeting ID or password to type.

All classes run on Miami time (Eastern). Your schedule in My Zone shows the times in Eastern time so there is no guessing.

Sign in to My Zone, open Livestream Classes, and press Join on Zoom. The button appears 15 minutes before each class and stays until it ends.

No. Livestream classes happen once, live, like class in the studio — that is what makes them class and not a video. If you miss one, join the next.

Yes, any time. Cancel from My Zone → Account, or write to classes@siudyflamenco.org. You keep access until the end of the month you have paid for.

Livestream Classes are new, and to celebrate the launch the subscription is $69.99 a month instead of the regular $119.99 until October 31, 2026. Everyone who subscribes before then keeps $69.99 a month for as long as their subscription stays active — the price never goes up on you. From November 1 on, new subscribers pay $119.99 a month. If you cancel and rejoin later, you rejoin at the price in effect at that time.

No — the livestream of the class you attend in the studio is included with your in-person membership. Sign in to My Zone and you will find it under Livestream Classes.
