The Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company's mission is to inspire by producing and presenting the highest level of flamenco
Shows in Florida, the United States, and abroad; training young, aspiring professional flamenco dancers; and
developing and implementing
educational programs in flamenco and dance.
The Siudy Garrido Flamenco Company contributes to the evolution of flamenco art in America by presenting a
contemporary vision of flamenco through a variety of seasonal events. The company is composed of eight flamenco
ballet dancers and an ensemble of virtuoso
musicians, all led by the artistic vision of award-winning choreographer Siudy Garrido.
Siudy Garrido is a second-generation flamenco artist, deeply inspired by her mother, Siudy Quintero and is the result Of her mother's legacy.
Quintero, her mother, who was awarded a Medal of Civil Merit by the King of Spain for her efforts to expand Spanish culture in Venezuela,
founded a dance academy in Caracas in 1966. She became a successful performer and teacher, building a dance school of over 600 students
and staging large-scale original productions at the Teatro Teresa Carreno.
Quintero's influence extended beyond Venezuela, earning her international recognition, including an invitation from the Pittsburgh Opera to
provide a Spanish ballet for their production of Carmen.
Siudy Garrido, her daughter, emerged as a world-renowned artist. Immersed in the flamenco world from a young age, she shined performing
in many of her mother's productions from the age of Six becoming a lead performer at the age of 15. Garrido has carried forward her mother's
60-year legacy, becoming a dedicated and accomplished flamenco artist in her own right.
